art therapy is an alternative approach that allows individuals to express through the use of art materials, such as paint, clay, textile and natually found objects. Since many of our thoughts, feelings, memories and experiences are processed and stored in the form of images, art therapy can be a more direct, natural and less inhibited way of expression. It is a great way to connect with the deeper, inner self.

 

In art therapy, there is no right or wrong way of doing art. skills and techniques are not required in order to be able to engage in the therapeutic process. Aesthetic values are not the priorities. Whether you are an experienced artist or a beginner or someone who hasn't touched any art materials for decades, everyone can get something out of the art making process. It can be fun, inspiring and healing.
